Everyone wants to be successful. Focus generally tends to be towards career success. However, personal or life success is also important.
Success is about achieving goals. After all, if you don’t have a goal then how can you be successful?
So what are the four secrets that can help you be successful?
Set Goals for Success
It is vital that you set goals for your personal and professional lives. These will provide a target for you to aim for. Once you’ve listed your goals, then write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them.
Add who or what can help you to your list. Find an accountability partner, mentor or coach who can help and support you. There are some terrific mentors in the online world. I can definitely help you with that!

Remember That Your Personal and Professional Lives Are Inter-dependent
You may think that your career goals are totally separate from your personal goals. However, they are inter-dependent. Your career relies on your well-being, impacts on your family and relationships, your health and happiness.
Your happiness, relationships, and health are affected by your career. If you’re not happy at work or doing a job you love then it will have an impact on your emotional and physical well-being, as well as affecting other areas of your personal life.
To be successful in one area you need to create success in the other. Sounds a bit strange but let’s take it one step further.
Find Your Passion and Purpose
If your personal and professional lives are inter-dependent, then to be successful in them you will need to discover your passion and purpose. By discovering these you will create the determination to succeed.
This will enhance your creativity, spark inspiration and allow you to harness the power of flow in your activities.

Ask yourself what you really want to do with your life. What do you want your legacy to be?
Where do you want to be 5 or 10 years down the road?
What exactly is making you happy?
Don’t Focus on the Money
While many people consider amassing wealth to be a sign of success, that should not be your end goal or sole success indicator.
Instead focus on your emotions, lifestyle, and well-being. What will your life look and feel like when you have successfully achieved your goals? How will your family and friends feel?
Why not create a vision board with words, quotes, and pictures showing your life as a success?
When thinking about your professional success, consider how you will know you’ve succeeded. What will your position be?
How will you be making an impact in your company and in the wider community?
What will your work day look like?
Think about work/life balance and the effect on your family and relationships with friends. How will your new role or business affect your life, health, and happiness?

While success can mean different things to different people, one thing all definitions have in common is that success is measured by achieving goals that make you feel positive emotions, for example, happiness and achievement.
You will find the greatest success comes when you use your passions to create your goals in life and work.
If you need help in discovering your passion, setting your goals or figuring out how to achieve success, please enter your information below so I can reach out to you and help you discover your success.

How you can achieve real happiness – really? What is real happiness anyway? Let’s discuss this below.
Are you happy?
While you may answer yes, of course, I’m happy, consider the question further. Are you really happy? Does your life fill you with joy? Do you feel well? Are you excited by the thought of what each day holds? When considering happiness there are a lot of questions that can be asked. Perhaps one of the first ones you will think of is, ‘What is happiness?’
Happiness is a state of being. Positive psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky describes happiness as a positive emotion that not only means you experience the emotions of well-being, joy, and contentment but these emotions are also “combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful and worthwhile.”
geralt / Pixabay
So for you to experience real happiness it appears that you need to create a life with meaning. So does your life have meaning? Do you feel that it is worthwhile? And If not, why not?
These are important questions to ask yourself about happiness
If you feel happy but your life is lacking something, then it may be that you aren’t experiencing a full state of real happiness. Creating change could take your life from mediocre to amazing and allow you to experience the full effects of real happiness.
So how can you create this “real happiness“?
Discover your passion and purpose. Make these an intrinsic part of your everyday life. If you’re wondering how to find them then take a piece of paper or notebook and answer the following questions. Do it now, before you forget!
What do want to do with your life?
How do you want to feel every day?
What do you enjoy doing?
List those things that make you feel excited, creative, inspired and energized.
What are you good at?
List those things that make you feel creative, energized, inspired and that you lose yourself in when you are doing them.
What do you want your legacy to be?
When you think back on your life, what do you want to be remembered for?
Who are your role models? Why?
What are your big dreams and goals?
How can you achieve your big dreams and goals?
Who or what can help you change your life for the better?
As you answer the questions you will begin to find a pattern in your answers and recurrent themes. These can help you identify what you need to do and change to create real happiness in your life.

If you consider that your life needs to be worthwhile and meaningful as Lyubomirsky says, then you need to consider what you can do to create those in your own life. You need to find your passion and purpose. (Go ahead and check out the link, it’s to my Passion Planner Freebie) When you have found those and embedded them into your life then you will find “real happiness”.
In the comments below, did you find this useful to discover your Passion and Purpose?
Are you living your best life? Are you really? Do you think that you should be living the American Dream? It may be that you consider the best life as one with fame and fortune, perhaps with the addition of fast cars and globe-trotting. However, living your best life is not about the American Dream, fast cars, globe-trotting, fame, fortune or all that mumbo-jumbo JUNK! Yes, you heard me correctly there.
Your best life is about YOU living a life of happiness and success. While the specific elements of your best life will be different to someone else’s, there will be common threads. Yep… And what are those elements that will help you create and live your best life?
Here is a list of them:
For most people, work is essential to earning an income. It’s used to provide a roof over their head and food on the table. Some people are lucky enough to have enough money that they don’t actually need to work. What did you say? Don’t HAVE to WORK? Well isn’t that nice?
Whether you do or don’t need to work is not the problem. The problem occurs when work takes over your life and you find that everything you do revolves around it. If you find that you spend too many hours working and not enough resting or socializing, then you are in for a BIG surprise.
Here’s what it comes down to:
First, it begins to negatively impact your life, then your health and then your precious relationships.
It’s important that you make sure that you have a work/life balance that allows you to enjoy time with family and friends, as well as outside interests to help you round out your life.

You know that goals are important, but do you set them? Tell me the right answer here, please. First, you need goals in your personal and business life, otherwise, you have NO direction. By having them you can create positive change.
If you’re drifting along and not feeling inspired, then now is the time to change that. Yes, because this will help to solve all the issues that you do have in your life.
Solve me these riddles ➡
What do you want from life?
What makes you feel excited or inspired?
When you look back on your life what do you want to feel proud of?
Think about what you want and then write down the steps you can take to achieve it. It’s really not that hard. Just pick up a pen or pencil and a piece of paper. Go on…I’ll wait until you have them. Go now because I’m waiting!! 😉
Ok, now ➡ ➡
What would your best life look and feel like? Use your imagination and dream a little. Got it? ➡ NICE…
Everyone needs relationships. Right? They provide connection and support. Look at the people in your life who don’t serve any purpose apart from annoyance or toxicity. By this I mean, consider all those who take your time, energy and positivity but give nothing in return apart from stress and anxiety.
Come on, I know you have some in your group. If you can remove them from your social circle, do it, NOW! If they don’t have the time or space for you in your life, they will no longer affect you negatively. But, and that’s a BIG BUT, removing them completely isn’t possible, then plan ways to make sure that you can interact with them without negativity or feeling used. Because they will and you know this!
Why am I telling you this? Because you really don’t NEED them in your life so why have them?
Mihail_hukuna / Pixabay
You need to nurture and develop those relationships that bring you happiness, love, friendship, and support. Those relationships that involve give and take. These are the people you want to have a relationship with now, don’t you?
Here’s a good idea:
Consider hiring a life coach or a mentor to help you create yours. This could be one of the best investments and/or relationships you make in your life. Try it, what could it hurt?
Everybody knows this. Your health is essential to having a great life. While you may have serious health issues you can manage them in a way that will enable you to create and live your best life. Make sure that you eat healthily and drink plenty of fluids. Regular exercise will help you with fitness and also get the endorphins (feel-good hormones) flowing. Talk to your doctor about scheduling an appointment to check out how you’re doing. I did this today, as a matter of fact. And so should you…come on now…it will only take a few minutes of your time to make that phone call.

Be happy! You CAN choose that you know. Of course, there will be times when things happen that cause unhappiness, but these periods need only be temporary. If you plan for them and have strategies in place that can help you find the positive and regain a sense of control you won’t go into that depression spiral that so many people go through these days.
I’m no expert, I can only tell you from experience, that you can wallow in self-pity but you’re going to be the only one at that party, ya know?
You are the master of your destiny and happiness. YES, YOU! You have the power to control your feelings. Don’t give that power away to others. YOU ARE A POWERFUL HUMAN BEING! Use that power to your benefit.
Your best life is the one that YOU create. It doesn’t just happen magically. We wish that it would but it doesn’t. It will require you to dream, plan, act and create, but it will be so worth the effort. Try it, you’ll see that I’m right! Here’s a little guide I created that you can use to find your passion. Get YOUR Guide Here
Tell you what. If you need help creating your PASSION, put your info in the form below. I’d be more than happy to help you do that. Come on…what will it hurt to spend 15 minutes of your time chatting with someone who could help you make a difference in your life? DO IT…I DARE YOU! 🙂
This One Thing Can Transform Your Life from Dull to Fabulous
Transformation, really, you say? If your life seems dull and boring, then it is time to turn it around. Yes, I’m talking to you! You sitting there trying to be all pouty and sad. You don’t have to settle for dull and humdrum, instead, you can choose to go after fun and fabulous! Come on, a little fun is NOT going to hurt you. Besides, you know that old saying, “All work and no fun”? I don’t remember who said that right now, but that’s not the point.
So what is it that can completely transform your life for the better?
Is it money?
Perhaps a life partner?
What about fame?
While all of those will change your life, often for the better, there is an often over-looked something that will create an incredible and positive change in your life. Gasp!!
“There is no fulfillment in things whatsoever. And I think one of the reasons that depression reigns supreme amongst the rich and famous is some of them thought that maybe those things would bring them happiness.
But what, in fact, does is having a cause, having a passion. And that’s really what gives life’s true meaning.” Ben Carson.
As you can see from the quote above a cause, a passion and therefore, a purpose is what will give you a life transformed from dull to amazing. It won’t require you to spend thousands of dollars or go to extreme lengths. No, not really.
You can have all the latest gadgets, fast cars, new clothes, holidays and top job but unless you are passionate about what you do and why you do it, they will feel worthless and hold little meaning for you. They may make you feel excited and happy in the beginning but over time they lose significance and no longer have the power to engender positive emotions. Am I right? Just think of everything you do have…is it making YOU happy?
If you want to find fulfillment and happiness, then it’s time to focus on what you can do to create it in your life. Instead of focusing on material things consider what you can do to create a difference in the world. It doesn’t have to be massive and impact the entire population of the Earth. It may be something that you feel passionately about that is local to you.
ChhoukNet / Pixabay
By taking up a cause or a passion project that is bigger than you, it allows you to start making an impact on the world around you. By giving yourself to this passion you will receive energy, positivity, excitement, and happiness.
It may be that your passion is to write children’s books. Your books would then inspire a new generation of children to read and learn. You would be creating a legacy with the power to affect future generations.
Don’t let life pass you by. You don’t have to accept a miserable or mundane existence. You have the power to create the life you want. You really do! So, find your passion and purpose, follow it and create a life of joy, excitement, challenge, and adventure that can inspire others.
Create a legacy you’re proud to leave to your fellow humans. Do the thing, your best thing!
Why You Should Find Your Passion and Follow It. How does your life make you feel? Now, do you wake each morning looking forward to the day ahead? Or do you wish you could just bury your head under the covers and stay there? Your outlook will depend on many things but one of the most important factors that can change your day-to-day life is passion.
So What is Passion?
Passion is an extreme and positive emotion. A strong and compelling desire for someone or something that inspires you and creates happiness. While it can be an emotion felt towards another person, here we are looking at THE passion for life and work.
Why Do You Need It?
“Without it, you don’t have energy, without energy you have nothing.” Donald Trump. A quote he has used many times in his career.
Without it in your life, you will probably find that your days often feel dull and tiresome. There may be a sense of something being missing or lacking. You might also feel tired and depressed. This can be the result of the negative energy surrounding you due to the lack of passion and the positive energy it brings.
Finding your passion for life can create enormous change. You will find that you look forward to the day ahead and actually want to get out of bed in the morning. You will have more energy and focus. Additionally, you’ll feel more creative and inspired to follow your dreams and create those goals you’ve been meaning to accomplish. Don’t you think so?
Your passion for life will also help you create better relationships with others including family, friends, and colleagues. They will respond to your positive energy and enthusiasm.
Of course, your passion in life might also be a way for you to create it in your work also. This can result in a huge shift in your life as you will not only be living the life you love but you will also be undertaking work that you love as well. Wouldn’t it feel amazing to earn an income from doing something that inspires you and brings you joy?
Finding passion for something can create an enormous shift in your life and emotions. It can help you to live a fulfilling life where every day is full of purpose, energy, commitment, and achievement. If life feels dull, uninspiring and leaves you with little energy and focus then why not look for that something, a cause, hobby or career, that feels right and sparks joy within you? You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes to you, your relationships and possibly, your finances. Now THAT would create a whole NEW interest in PASSION, wouldn’t you say?
Let me know how you feel about creating some passion in your life. If you need a little inspiration, you can always give me a call!
In other words, HOW TO LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE. So, how then do you live your best life? This is what you need to do. You need to set goals for your personal and professional lives. Yup, the secret sauce to living…create it!
Here are a couple of pointers:
Having goals will allow you to measure your achievements and your success.
They will help you to improve those aspects that need to change.
But…before you begin to set your goals, you need to identify what your best life looks and feels like.
There are lots of ways to do this. Below are a few ideas you could try:
You could write it down being as descriptive as possible and using the present tense as if you are living your best life right now.
Or you could create a vision board with lots of pictures, words, and quotes.
If you really want to attract a successful outcome you could do both. Try it and see what works best for you.
One important thing to remember about visualizing your best life is that it needs to inspire you and to be fulfilling. Nelson Mandela said, “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
So dream big.
Think about your life purpose.
What makes you happy? Inspires you?
What legacy do you want to leave?
Finding your passion and purpose is the crucial element to living your best life.
Once you have found them you can then set your goals and create your plans.
Optimism: as you set goals, create plans and implement them you will see and feel yourself creating change in your life. These changes are positive and achieved by taking action. Each step is another towards your goal. You will feel proud of yourself as you achieve goals, reach milestones and see the changes you have made. These positive emotions create optimism for the future and help build strength and resilience to cope with change and any challenges you may encounter along the way.
Wellbeing: taking control of your life, deciding what you want to do with it and what you want to feel is incredibly empowering. Instead of feeling listless, unmotivated or depressed and anxious you will begin to discover a sense of excitement, curiosity, creativity, joy, passion and purpose. As you take action these positive steps will create positive emotions and the desire to continue to progress towards your end goal. You won’t want to settle for a humdrum existence when you have found the power to create the best life for you.
All of these positive emotions will reduce stress, anxiety and even depression. They will also affect your physical as well as your mental and emotional wellbeing.
Control: an often overlooked result of goal setting is control. By taking control of your life, envisioning the future you want through following your passion and purpose, you are acknowledging that life doesn’t just happen but can be shaped by you.
Your life is in your hands. You have the power to shape it to what you would like.
However, to create your best life you first need to discover your passion and purpose. Only then can you set your goals and plan how to achieve it. Without those goals, you reduce your chances of success as you won’t be able to recognize it when it happens. So…what are YOU going to do?
Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear what you have to say.
Stay tuned for my big ANNOUNCEMENT in April. I’m starting a new service called:
What is the definition of a mentor? According to Merriam-Webster, it’s “a trusted counselor or guide”. So, a mentor is someone that motivates you to keep you accountable to yourself and provides guidance. Here’s how to pick the best mentor for your upcoming year…
Who Inspires You?
Start by thinking about who regularly inspires you. Maybe it’s the speaking coach that’s crushing it with her products or the crafty mom who turned her blog into a thriving business that supports her family.
It’s OK if you choose a mentor in a different niche. For example, you may choose a mentor who sells makeup online, even though you’re a brand designer for local businesses. Just because you’re in separate industries, it doesn’t mean you can’t be influenced by her.
Why Do They Inspire You?
As you consider who might be a good mentor, ask yourself why certain people inspire you. It may be they have something you want like a big business, a good marriage, or a great sense of style. It could also be something they already are like an artist, an entrepreneur, a speaker, or a novelist.
Getting clear on why someone inspires you is important. Once you know, you’ll understand yourself better and what it is you want to create more of in your own life.
How Can You Learn from This Mentor?
You can begin learning from your mentor right away. Read her blog and sign up for updates. Watch her video episodes and take notes on the nuggets of wisdom that capture your interest. Follow her on social media and check in on her profile a couple of times a week.
Study what works for your mentor and what doesn’t. Pay attention to how she structures her time and uses her energy. Note her goals and see how she reaches them and what tools she uses along the way.
How Will You Engage?
As you’re learning from your mentor and soaking up her wisdom, don’t forget to engage with her. Comment on Facebook or reply on Twitter. Let her know how much you appreciate the fact that she’s sharing her journey with others just like you.
Look for ways you could hang out with her, whether online or in a virtual space. Sign up for her webinar or attend the conference she’s speaking at. Watch her live streams on Facebook or take her courses.
So, let’s review.
Find someone that INSPIRES you.
Why do they INSPIRE you?
How can you LEARN from her?
How are you going to ENGAGE with her?
Finding a mentor doesn’t have to be hard or complicated. In fact, there’s probably at least one women that you already admire and can learn a lot from! Yeah…ME!
Transform your year with the help of a business mentor. Discover how by signing up here.
When you think about the highest earning business coaches, people like Ali Brown, Carrie Wilkerson, and Marie Forleo, what comes to mind? Charisma, experience, and expertise are often at the top of the list. Do you think they have the proper mindset?
Would it surprise you to know that those are not the most important characteristics? In fact, while those things do help attract and keep an audience, there’s one thing that is absolutely critical to their success, and you can’t even see it. It’s their MINDSET!
It’s true. In everything you do, whether in business or in life, your mindset is the determining factor when it comes to your success.
Your business plans are no different. Without the right mindset, you will forever be attracting and working with clients who are:
deserving and lovely
are less than your ideal client
and might have problems when it comes to their ability to pay
So before you can realize your dreams of four- or five-figure clients, you have to do some internal work. You have to make some changes to your own mindset. To be more in line with what the top earners in your industry already do and feel.
mindset ˈmīn(d)set/Submit noun the established set of attitudes held by someone. “the region seems stuck in a medieval mindset”
Changing Your Attitude
One thing charismatic and personable people have in common is a good attitude. Think about it; you’ll never see Carrie Wilkerson or Paul Evans complaining about how the kids are sick, “again!”! Or that the cable repair guy is 40 minutes late, or even that the car blew a tire.
Instead, you see their expressions of gratitude in everything. If the kids are sick, they’re grateful to have a business that allows them to stay home and play nurse.
If the cable guy is late, they’re grateful to have 40 extra minutes. They will just read a book instead of watch television.
And if the car died in the middle of running a week’s worth of errands, oh well! They’re happy to have found a mechanic who does great work at a reasonable price.
If you find yourself complaining—even in your head—turn your attitude around. There’s nearly always something to be grateful for, even in the worst situations.
And when you can rethink and revise your attitude for the better, you’ll not only be happier, but you’ll attract a better audience, too.
at·ti·tude ˈadəˌt(y)o͞od/Submit noun a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior. “she took a tough attitude toward other people’s indulgences” synonyms: view, viewpoint, outlook, perspective, stance, standpoint, position, inclination, temper, orientation, approach, reaction; More a position of the body proper to or implying an action or mental state. “the boy was standing in an attitude of despair, his chin sunk on his chest” synonyms: position, posture, pose, stance, bearing “an attitude of prayer” NORTH AMERICANinformal truculent or uncooperative behavior; a resentful or antagonistic manner. “I asked the waiter for a clean fork, and all I got was attitude”
Growing Your Confidence
Here’s something else top-end coaches have in common: confidence. Yes, they believe in what they do. They believe in their own ability to help others achieve the same thing. So they walk on stage or join a webinar filled with the knowledge that what they are about to say will change the lives of those who are listening.
It’s not cocky or arrogant, it’s just confidence. And if you don’t have it yet, you can take steps to increase it.
Start by asking yourself, in any new or uncomfortable situation, “What’s the worst that could happen?” Of those worst-case scenarios, resolve what you have control over, and let the rest go.
So if you’ve agreed to speak in front of a small group of business owners, and your fear is that you’ll flub your speech, practicing beforehand will greatly improve your confidence.
Next, get inside the head of someone who is confident in what you’re about to do. Walk onto that stage as if you’ve been doing it for years, and not only will you feel more confident, but you’ll be more confident.
You can use the “as if” attitude in everything from creating a new product to closing a sale. Whenever you feel your confidence failing, just remember to act as if you’ve done this successfully hundreds of times.
con·fi·dence ˈkänfədəns/Submit noun the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust. “we had every confidence in the staff” synonyms: trust, belief, faith, credence, conviction “I have little confidence in these figures” the state of feeling certain about the truth of something. “it is not possible to say with confidence how much of the increase in sea levels is due to melting glaciers” a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities. “she’s brimming with confidence” synonyms: self-assurance, self-confidence, self-possession, assertiveness;
Just like how the person you’re talking to on the phone can hear a smile in your voice. Your potential clients can sense your mindset also.
And, if it’s not up to the standards of the top earners in your niche, you’ll struggle to make the sale. Just work on your attitude and confidence levels. Then watch your income soar.
