How to Let Go of your Past

How to Let Go of your Past

Letting go of your past to move on is often easier said than done. Besides just enabling you to move forward, there are many other reasons why you must let go of past events. Because with a past weighing you down, you’ll never be able to greet the future with open arms. This article will help you to figure out how to let go of your past.

The Past is The Past – It Ended

First and foremost, you need to let go of the past because it is just that, the past. If you spend time and mental energy thinking about things that have happened or events you wished you could have prevented, this is valuable energy wasted. Instead of putting this energy into your future goals, you are putting them into something that will never change.

And if you spend too much time worrying about the past, you may soon find you’ve wasted away the present as well.

Dwelling On The Past Will Only Hurt Your Outlook

If there’s something in the past you are specifically dwelling on, that’s likely because it was a situation that caused you a large amount of stress or sadness. And you may not realize it, but inviting these memories into your mind is inviting these negative emotions back into your life.

As long as these emotions cloud your judgment, it will be difficult for you to look forward with optimism. This is a key part of achieving your future success.

You Are Not Your Past – It’s Over

The things which may have happened previously in your life may have shaped who you are today. But you must remember you are not these experiences. Your mind created any attachment you have to these past events. They will continue to hold you back as long as you let them. How to let go of your past is crucial to understand because if you don’t, your life could just pass you by with you going nowhere.

Cut the ties today and commit to a new life unattached to what may have happened in your past.

Ready to Be Finished?

Letting go of the past and committing to move forward is never the easy option. If it were, everyone would do it. But it is impossible to go towards a positive future without also having a positive attitude and outlook on life. And holding on to your past will inhibit you from doing so.

So, if you want to be successful in the future, take the first step by committing to letting go of your past today. You will feel so much better after you accept the fact that you need to do this to move forward.

How To Get Into a Mindset Ready For Change

How To Get Into a Mindset Ready For Change

How to Get into a Mindset Ready for Change

Changes, no matter how minor, can be an extremely difficult part of life. But if you know that changes are coming (and they always are), there are ways in which you can adjust your mindset. You will need to prepare yourself for these changes.  So, in today’s article How to Get into a Mindset Ready for Change, we are going to discuss a few methods on how you can get ready for the changes to come.

First, Let The Past Go

If you are holding on to something, or someone in your past, it will be impossible to meet the future with open arms. And since you never know when it may be time to change, make it a practice to let go of things that regularly negatively impact your life. That way, you will be able to adequately embrace change when it does arrive.

Stay Curious Mentality

Never be afraid to ask questions. And keep your mind open when you get answers. By questioning the things around you, you engage your critical thinking skills, which may be required when you make a change. Staying curious is best done by asking “what-if” questions about any situation you may encounter.

Have Backup Plans

A lot of people think having a backup plan is not having confidence in yourself. And this isn’t entirely true. Although you should never plan to use your backup plans, you should still have them. Creating scenarios when things may go wrong engages the same critical thinking skills listed above. And having these critical thinking skills can help you better anticipate problems or issues. This makes changes much easier to embrace.

Look For Inspiration

If you are going through every day on autopilot when change happens, it will likely shock you. You won’t know how to respond. On the flip side, if you are constantly looking for ways in which your life will change, you can expect one of two things. When it does change, you will be more prepared to handle whatever is coming your way. And two, even if it changes in a way you didn’t expect. One of the best ways to look for inspiration is just by looking within yourself during a period of meditation or visualization.

If you want to be ready and prepared to meet whatever change comes your way, you must get into the proper mindset now. You can get yourself in this mindset by leaving the past behind, remaining curious, looking for inspiration, and by having backup plans. All of these combined will help clear your mind and prepare your critical thinking skills to conquer the unknown.

What’s Holding You Back From Moving Forward?

Have you ever just felt stuck in your life? As if you are going around and around in a circle and you can’t seem to break out? Well, this could be because something in your life is creating that problem. Today’s article discusses just “What’s Holding You Back From Moving Forward?” in more detail so you can crush it and focus on yourself and your business.

You’re Playing It Too Safe

If you are constantly worried about the future, and this worry keeps you from taking risks, this is probably the number one reason you aren’t moving forward. To move forward, you have to live a little and do something which makes you a little uncomfortable—it’ll pay off in the end.

The next time you are faced with something that takes you out of your comfort zone, give it a try—you may find a little risk is a positive addition to your life.

You’re Stuck In The Past

To move forward, you have to learn to let go. The past is the past for a reason. Remember it fondly, but make sure you aren’t focused on it. Don’t devote any time to it, as this will keep you from being able to propel yourself forward into the future. And that’s what you want, right? Living in the past will suck up your whole day and make you feel miserable. I know from experience that you don’t need that in your life today!

You Doubt Your Abilities

If you want to make changes to better your life or move forward, you can’t do so if you constantly doubt yourself. Have a little confidence in yourself. Just deciding to move forward is a big step, and only the most successful people do so. If confidence is something you struggle with, consider trying some tactics to increase your confidence. And please do this before making a large change in your life.

You Are Hanging With The Wrong Crowd

Are all your friends stuck in dead-end jobs? I bet they complain about how miserable they are, don’t they? According to Jim Rohn, you are the combination of the five people you are closest to in life. And if these people aren’t going anywhere, you likely won’t either.

Be especially careful if you find yourself spending time with people who seem to talk down about your future. Don’t let their negative outlook become yours, as this could end up holding you back big time. No one said moving forward was easy, but it may feel impossible if you are being held back. Instead, choose to make changes to your life to stop your convictions, past, and your friends from holding you back. After all, moving forward is part of being successful and having a happy life.

Why We Shouldn’t Fear New Beginnings

Why We Shouldn’t Fear New Beginnings

Why We Shouldn’t Fear New Beginnings

Starting over can be tough. And even if it’s not challenging, rarely is it ever easy. If you’ve recently had to start over, you’re probably feeling a host of emotions such as uncertainty, stress, and fear. Although you may be scared, you shouldn’t fear new beginnings because they do signify some amazing things coming into your life. This article today focuses on why we shouldn’t fear new beginnings.

Taking Power Over Your Life

Starting on a new beginning in your life is the ultimate sign of power. Something in your life happened, and you decided you didn’t like it, so you made a change. Not only that, but you likely made a change in the direction that you wanted your life to go.

Why we shouldn't fear new beginnings

When you embark on this new beginning, you are taking away the power from the source of whatever caused you the trauma and returning it to its rightful owner, yourself. And this is what makes new beginnings so incredibly powerful.

New Beginnings Are Needed To Grow

As sad as endings are, there is always a reason something came to an end. No matter what that reason may be, the reason something ended is so that you can have a new beginning. Without new beginnings, you may never be given a chance to build yourself up to your full potential. Think of it this way; if you were a goldfish, you would probably love the fishbowl you live in.

It’s cute and cozy, and you’ve been there your whole life. Now suddenly, you’re in a three-gallon tank. This is probably scary, but you need this larger tank to grow! In this case, the goldfish will die if left in the small bowl—therefore, even if the giant tank may be terrifying, the goldfish must move to survive.

You Know More Than You Did Before

If your trauma was a result of a mistake you previously made, don’t fret. As you embark on your new beginning, you can do so with confidence because you now know more than you did before. Mistakes are normal, and starting anew is a sign you’ve learned from your previous mistakes, and you are committed to not making them again.

Overall, whatever your new beginning may be, you’re likely feeling a bit nervous as you think about it. But don’t worry, new beginnings, while scary, are necessary.  They teach you lessons and let you take back power over your life. You may not feel great at first, but someday you will look back and be thankful you started over.

Why New Beginnings Make Us So Scared

Why New Beginnings Make Us So Scared

Today’s article discusses why new beginnings make us so scared. If you’ve ever experienced a new beginning, or if you are currently preparing for one now, you probably feel a combination of both fear and stress. And these feelings are completely natural as new beginnings scare everyone in one way or another. This fear is occurring for many reasons you may not even realize.

The Preliminaries – Something Is Ending

The number one reason new beginnings scare us so much isn’t that something new is starting. But rather something which made us happy before is ending. Change is natural, even though it may not feel natural at the time.

Just remember that when something ends, it’s because something better is coming for you. Don’t try to hang onto something which is falling apart. This can make the new beginning even more difficult if you are still grasping for the past. Instead, be grateful the past happened and commit yourself to moving forward.

Fear Of The Unknown – The First Stage

When you start over either in a new location or job, you have no idea what this change will bring you. You don’t know that it will be better or more fun. You hope it will be, which breeds fear. Humans are naturally built to fear what they are uncertain about. But don’t let the fear scare you, instead push forward and tell yourself that this change will be for the better. You may just be surprised at the power a positive outlook can have.

Your Last New Beginning May Not Have Worked

If you’ve changed your life drastically a few times, there’s a chance that the idea you may fail in another new beginning is contributing to your fear. But don’t let these emotions control you. Why New Beginnings Make Us So Scared is a natural process. As mentioned above, your outlook is a huge part of your success in this new situation.

Remember why your last new beginnings didn’t work out and use this knowledge not to make the same mistakes again. And most of all, believe in yourself because you can do it!

New beginnings scare everyone. After all, to have a new beginning, something else had to have ended. But don’t let the fear of the unknown or past mistakes lead to fear of new beginnings. Instead, know that new beginnings are a good and necessary part of life, and your fear will likely lessen if you embrace the coming change with open arms.

If you need help with resolving this, I offer 1 x 1 mentoring sessions. Book your FREE CALL right now! I would be happy to help you!
